Two passengers were taken to hospital after a crash on Kingsway Thursday afternoon that saw a Honda Pilot plow through a power pole and narrowly miss two pedestrians before slamming into a light standard.

Police in the area came upon the scene just before 2:30 p.m., according to an emailed Burnaby RCMP statement. The Pilot's driver, a man in his 80s, was unhurt, but his two passengers, who are in their 70s and 80s, were taken to hospital with minor injuries, according to the police.The crash also knocked out power in the area as emergency crews dealt with the downed power lines.
