Two Houston travelers died Thursday after a Winnebago RV they were riding in hit a tractor trailer and then careened through a guardrail, down an embankment and into several trees, police said.
Lenisha T. Simon, 39, and Brenda M. Oyervides, 24, both of Houston, died along I-66 in Fauquier County around 8:30 p.m. Thursday, according to a Virginia State Police news release. The 25-year-old RV driver, Ifreke E. Inyang, also of Houston, has been charged with reckless driving and driving without a license, according to a statement from Virginia State Police.
A fourth person, a 23-year-old from Baton Rouge, La., suffered injuries described by police as “life-threatening” and was flown to INOVA Fairfax Hospital for treatment. Four other passengers suffered minor injuries and were taken to Warren Memorial Hospital, police said. The truck driver also suffered injuries that police described as minor.
