A recent verbal playground altercation tuned deadly, resulting in one teen being killed and another hospitalized. San Antonio police were called in response to a shooting at a playground in the 900 block of Chihuahua Street, just west of downtown, a little before 5 p.m. Sunday. When they arrived, they found an 18-year-old woman suffering from a gunshot wound.She was taken to a hospital, where she died.
A 13-year-old girl who was nearby was hit by gunfire in the leg and was taken to a hospital in stable condition. Witnesses told police that a vehicle stopped at the playground just before the shooting and that its occupant got into a verbal altercation with the 18-year-old woman. Subsequently, that person started firing a gun toward the 18-year-old.
