An 18-year-old was found fatally shot in Brighton woods, and a 17-year-old has been charged

Authorities have released the name of an 18-year-old found shot to death Monday in a Brighton wooded area, and another teen has been charged in the slaying.

The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Kendrell Laforres Body. He lived in Birmingham.Body was pronounced dead on the scene at 9:38 a.m. Sheriff’s investigators have charged a 17-year-old with murder in Body’s death. His name is being withheld by authorities because of his age.Body is the 29th homicide victim so far this year in all of Jefferson County.
