Nairn Centre resident died as a result of the June 26 collision
An 18-year-old driver has been charged following a fatal collision that occurred on June 26 on Highway 17 at Sand Bay Road . • Careless driving causing death, contrary to section 130 of the Highway Traffic Act A news release issued today by the Ontario Provincial Police states that the vehicle being driven by the accused rear-ended another, resulting in the fatal crash.
The driver, 66-year-old Fern Belanger of Nairn Centre, was taken to hospital in life-threatening condition, and later succumbed to those injuries. The passenger of the vehicle suffered serious injuries, and the accused sustained minor injuries as a result of the crash.
