SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. — Will Murphy found out early in his rookie season with the Summerside D. Alex MacDonald Ford Western Capitals what life in the Maritime Junior Hockey League is like.The 16-year-old Murphy stepped right into the lineup, playing a key role on the Caps’ blue-line, and never looked back.
"I like to play a strong physical game with a little bit of offence in there and not getting beat on battles and making good passes,” said Murphy when asked to describe his style of play. The Caps and Yarmouth Mariners are tied 1-1 in the best-of-seven Eastlink South Division semifinal series heading into Games 3 and 4 in Yarmouth, N.S., on March 22 and 23.
"It is definitely a little bit of a jump for sure,” said Murphy. “It is faster, all the players are bigger, stronger, faster, so it took some adjusting for the first couple of months.
