He made the remarks while addressing a ceremony held in Karachi to mark the first anniversary of the event, the 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Monday. The ceremony was organised by the Sindh government and attended by senior political leadership, including Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah and senior provincial minister Sharjeel Inam Memon. A special documentary showcasing achievements linked to the “Battle of Truth” was also screened during the event.
Bilawal said Pakistan’s diplomats had strongly countered the enemy on the diplomatic front, while every Pakistani had played their part effectively in the process. He said the collective national response reflected unity and resilience. Earlier, Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah told the gathering that India had staged a false flag incident in Pahalgam and wrongly blamed Pakistan, to which Pakistan responded firmly.
Sindh CM Murad Ali Shah said the events proved that no matter how advanced a system may be, it is the skill of those operating it that determines its effectiveness. He also recalled that on 10 January 1972, Zulfikar Ali Bhutto convened the first meeting aimed at developing nuclear capability and said no government since then had compromised on that objective.
He further stated that Pakistan played a successful diplomatic role between the United States and Iran by bringing their leadership to the table in Islamabad, adding that the country would continue efforts to promote peace in the region and beyond. Speaking earlier, Sharjeel Inam Memon said that Zulfikar Ali Bhutto made the country a nuclear power, which ensured that no adversary could challenge Pakistan easily.
Memon described the anniversary as a day of significance and said the success in the operation had demonstrated Pakistan’s strength to the world. Business leader Arif Habib also addressed the ceremony, saying the success had raised the pride of Pakistanis globally. He expressed hope that the country would soon see positive developments in the economic sphere as well.
