15-year-old boy arrested in fatal shooting of another teen in Lemon Grove [Breaking]
Sheriff’s deputies have arrested a 15-year-old boy they suspect fatally shot a 15-year-old classmate over the weekend, an official said Tuesday.
The teen, who was arrested on suspicion of murder, was taken into custody Monday evening on Mazer Street, a residential street roughly half mile south of the site of the shooting, on Palm and Mulder streets, sheriff’s homicide Lt. Chris Steffen said.in his upper torso. Deputies arrived to find the boy on the sidewalk, Steffen said. He was dead.Steffen has not released the name of the victim. The suspect, who was not identified because of his age, was booked into Juvenile Hall.
The lieutenant did not say whether they found the gun, or how the teenage suspect may have gotten his hands on it. Witnesses and tipsters with information about the incident were asked to call the sheriff’s Homicide Unit at 285-6330 during business hours, or after hours at 565-5200.
