The Mercedes hit a black Jeep that was headed south on Racine Avenue, and the Jeep in turn jumped the curb and hit a woman and a 14-year-old girl standing at a Chicago Transit Authority bus stop. The girl was rushed to the University of Chicago's Comer Children's Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The woman with her at the bus stop, age unspecified, was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center in serious condition.
