A motive for the crime is still unclear, investigators said.
DONEGAL TOWNSHIP, Pa. - Parents are being urged to talk to their kids after a sleepover turned deadly for a 10-year-old boy.“It’s hard to wrap your head around it,” Trooper Steve Limani, of the Pennsylvania State Police, said.“My heart goes out to the families,” Limani added. “I can’t believe this happened.”
Pennsylvania State Police said troopers were called to a home on Donegal Lake Road at around 6 a.m. Thursday morning.Meyers had been stabbed in the head multiple times. The knife was found beside him.“We’ll call it a friendship between the two and it wasn’t uncommon for them to be around each other,” Limani described.
According to a criminal complaint, the 13-year-old had blood on his pants, hands and feet. He allegedly confessed to stabbing Meyers, who police say was spending the night at the house.“I’m sure I can only imagine what the families are going through. One family loses their 10-year-old and then another one has a 13-year-old that, for all intents and purposes, is going to the juvenile detention center facing murder charges.”Limani is asking anyone who may know something to come forward.
“If we can try to take from this, which it’s hard to take anything from this, maybe it’s just talk to your kids.
