The Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch are one of the most vibrant gardens in the county. Every spring, this 60-acre garden opens for the public to walk through its color coordinated fields and enjoy the vast number of flowers. About 55 acres are covered by ranunculus flowers, which are native to the southwestern region of Asia, and are a member of the buttercup family. Another five acres are used to plant other specialty flowers.
The fields are in bloom for about six to eight weeks, from early March through early May. The flower fields are a working farm and are located on a slope, overlooking Interstate 5. There are also a few other attractions at the Flower Fields in Carlsbad, including seven gardens, three greenhouses, a sweet pea maze and a tractor wagon ride. Ticket prices vary based on time and day you visit.
