Garland police are still searching for Abel Elias Acosta, the 14-year-old wanted for capital murder charges committed at a Texaco Station near downtown...
Police haven’t said whether they believe the suspect has fled the country, but the U.S. Marshals — an agency that coordinates international and foreign arrests — have joined the investigation.
Police are offering $5,000 and Jerry Reynolds, president of Car Pro Radio Network and owner of KPIR, offered an additional $5,000 reward, bringing the total reward to $10,000, Garland police have said. Police appealed to the public to turn Acosta in. “He’s wanted for killing three teenagers and wounding a fourth, and we need to find him and get him off the street,” Barineau said.
The experts have speculated that Acosta may be hiding out with a relative, if he remains in North Texas, or may have fled to another state or country.
