The MCU has delivered plenty of memorable costumes for its characters, but some unused designs would have been even better than what was used.
Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT The Marvel Cinematic Universe has done an increasingly good job adapting iconic hero and villain costumes from the pages of Marvel Comics, but a few rejected designs would have been even better than what ended up on-screen. The MCU started off strong with 2008's Iron Man, which faithfully adapted several of Tony Stark's suits.
Concept art for Ant-Man shows Zola in a more advanced and comic-accurate robotic body. It's unclear exactly how the villain would have fit into Scott Lang's debut movie, but the design is better than the digital face on a computer monitor that showed up in TheWinter Soldier. Zola is a strange-looking character, and this design balances cartoonish absurdity with menace in just the right way.
8 Gorr The God Butcher Christian Bale delivered a fantastic performance as Gorr in Thor: Love and Thunder, even if the character was undeveloped and underutilized compared to his famous run in Marvel Comics. In addition to massive narrative changes, Gorr also underwent a complete visual redesign for the MCU. In the comics, Gorr is much more alien, with no nose and two large tentacles coming from his head.
6 Green Goblin Willem Dafoe's Green Goblin instantly became a pop-culture mainstay when he debuted in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man, though his green metallic suit doesn't quite hold as well today amid more expressive and comic-accurate supervillain costumes. After being transported to the MCU in Spider-Man: No Way Home, Norman ditches his classic movie helmet and accidentally patches together something more similar to his Marvel Comics look.
4 Black Panther Black Panther has consistently had one of the best-looking superhero suits in the MCU, but none of the designs have yet paid homage to the character's older, classic look from Marvel Comics. In Black Panther, King T'Chaka is shown suited up in a flashback, and his suit has notable differences than the one later worn by T'Challa.
