One upcoming Star Wars movie will fulfill the broken promise of a film from the Game of Thrones creators that was rumored to be in production.

Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT One upcoming Star Wars movie will capitalize on the promise of the film that was said to be in production by the creators of Game of Thrones. In the lead-up to the show's final season, it was confirmed that David Benioff and D.B Weiss were in talks to create a Star Wars film after finalizing their journey with Game of Thrones season 8.

Similarly, Lucasfilm's theatrical developments since 2019 have been tumultuous, to say the least. After canceling various planned cinematic projects like Rogue Squadron and Kevin Feige's movie, it seems the franchise's theatrical future is back on track with three confirmed upcoming Star Wars movies announced at Star Wars Celebration 2023.

James Mangold's Star Wars Movie Is What The Game Of Thrones' Creators Film Was Exploring Also in the above report from Variety, it is mentioned that Benioff and Weiss initially intended to explore how the Jedi came to be. The duo wished to move away from the characters and timeline of the Skywalker Saga and explore the history of the galaxy through the origins of the Jedi Order.

It was confirmed during Star Wars Celebration that Mangold's film will be set in an era of the timeline labeled "Dawn of the Jedi". According to Mangold, the film will explore how the Force-users of the galaxy from 25000 years before the Skywalker Saga became what is known as the Jedi Order. This will be explored through the first contact between the Jedi of Old and the Force, with the film set to showcase how the Force came to be known, wielded, and harnessed.

Mangold, on the other hand, is much more experienced with crafting well-received Hollywood movies. From projects like 3:10 to Yuma, The Wolverine, Logan, and Ford vs. Ferrari, Mangold has proven that he has a distinctive eye for filmmaking across a variety of genres, with Logan and Ford vs. Ferrari garnering Oscar nominations. Similarly, Mangold already has a positive working relationship with Lucasfilm after working on Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.
