It is known, however, that Frasier will not be back as a phone-in radio host, after leaving for Chicago in the original finale, and the character list hints that he could now actually be teaching at an Ivy League university.
However, the only Ivy League university near Boston is Harvard, which is where Frasier went, as he likes to remind others. It would be difficult for Frasier to be set at the real university, which wouldn't be quick to give approval for storylines and jokes that might cast the institution in a bad light — a near-impossible situation for a character as biting as Frasier.
Niles' Son Going To Harvard Would Be A Bonus For The Show While Niles isn't returning for Frasier's reboot, his son David is, and this could make the difficult setting an unexpected bonus. If Frasier is set at Harvard after all, David is likely attending, as the character is described as a college freshman. Niles went to Yale instead of Harvard, and his and Frasier's opposing picks of competitive Ivy League schools would make this a fun detail.
