During the finale of Star Wars Rebels back in 2018, Ezra heroically chose to let a group of purrgil whisk him and Thrawn away from Lothal in order to save it. Since then, no one knew where Ezra and Thrawn were or what they were doing.
Ezra Has Been Hiding From Thrawn Since Rebels' Epilogue After getting stranded on Peridea, Ezra somehow managed to escape Thrawn’s Star Destroyer, known as the Chimaera. By exiling him, Ezra stole all of Thrawn’s aspirations of gaining Imperial power. Ezra’s likely been on the run from Thrawn and his Night Troopers since then. Until the Ahsoka series, Thrawn didn’t have any options in terms of escaping and returning to his original galaxy.
