One vehicle crashed into a utility pole and caught fire at an intersection in Piscataway, police said. That vehicle also struck a second vehicle, the driver of which died at the scene, officials said.

One person died after a two-vehicle crash early Saturday morning at a Piscataway intersection, officials said. Officers responded around 1:40 a.m. to Stelton Road and Mindy Lane after reports of a collision, according to the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office. Police discovered two vehicles, a Lexus and a Ford Focus, that had caught fire. The Lexus had struck the Ford Focus along with a utility pole, officials said.
