It said while ISED kept track of prices for telecom services, “the strategy did not include any national indicators or targets to evaluate whether its affordability outcomes were being achieved.”
The auditor general also found a low percentage of available funding was actually spent. Of the $2.4 billion in federal funding for different initiatives available for use by the 2022–23 fiscal year, only 40 per cent had been spent as of January 2023.Article content The auditor general also published a first audit into the $5 billion rehabilitation of Parliament’s Centre Block, a roughly 15-year overhaul project meant to fix the decaying structing and “failing” building systems.
But she also noted that the toughest is yet to come as the program moves from the planning to the building phase.
